The current Education Minister, Michael Gove has promoted the concept of Free Schools from the start of his time in office. This study tour in the US helped Skanska understand more about Charter Schools, the US equivalent.  The tour included a private roundtable discussion with senior educationalists held Preview Changes at New York’s Empire State Building.  Visits to unusual school buildings included a converted silk factory and a disused ice cream factory! Off the back of this work, Skanska was able to make direct contact with the Minister and hosted an international breakfast event ahead of the Spectator magazine Free Schools conference.
